Topic : g Defensive Player - are all available to the highest bidder. And

On Thursday night in Toronto the CFL Rules Committee will vote on whether or not defensive pass interference (DPI) should be the first judgment penalty in football to be subject to video review. Jerseys Cheap . If the idea is passed in that meeting, it will then be presented to the leagues Board of Governors, who ultimately has the final say. Defensive pass interference was one of 13 discussion points when the Rules Committee met on Wednesday but, not surprisingly, DPI was the topic that dominated the meeting, and if the unofficial show of hands was any indication, this rule change proposal will in fact be passed and presented to the Board. It was not unanimous, but the large majority is in favour of adding defensive pass interference to the plays that will be challengeable in the 2014 season. Again the majority of football people on the Rules Committee want this to happen. To give some context, Wednesdays meeting was not the first time this rule proposal was presented to the group; this is a discussion that started in July of last year. That didnt however, limit what was an interesting debate on what, as the head of officials Glen Johnson said, would be a rule change that, "is more than innovative. In the world of officiating, for all sports, its revolutionary. The proposal on the table, as written in Wednesdays agenda is, "to allow coaches to challenge both called and potential defensive pass interference fouls. A team would be able to use any and all of its coaches challenges (and their potential third earned challenge on a called DPI foul or a potential non-called DPI foul up to the three minute warning of the fourth quarter. This challenge would be carried out using the current replay rules and protocols just as they would for any other challengeable aspect of a play. In the last three minutes of the game, and in overtime, DPI would not be automatically reviewed by the command centre as all the current challengeable calls are now. It was a major part of the discussion on Wednesday, but in the last three minutes the proposal currently reads, "if a team has both timeouts and unused coaches challenges remaining at the three minute warning of the fourth quarter, they may now challenge a called DPI foul or a potential non-called DPI foul once in this time period. If they are successful in their challenge they will retain their timeout, and if unsuccessful, they will lose their timeout." The three minute warning aspect of the rule change was debated in the meeting on Wednesday and still may be amended; however, it doesnt look like it will be an issue that stops the proposal from moving to the next level. Also, if youre wondering about offensive pass interference, it is not part of this proposal because it is not a point of foul penalty. If offensive pass interference is committed, it is a ten-yard penalty from the line of scrimmage. If defensive pass interference occurs, the ball is placed where the foul happened, conceivably as much as a 30- to 50-yard penalty, and or, put the ball on the one-yard line if the foul occurs in the end zone. Every team in the league, the officials, and the CFLPA are represented in the Rules Committee, which is a group that includes some of the top football minds in our games history; and the majority of them think it is time to expand the use of video review. Again, it was an unofficial show of hands but, unless something changes on Thursday night, the rule proposal to make defensive pass interference the first reviewable judgment penalty in the history of football will be passed and put in the hands of the Board of Governors.http://www.cheapauthenticjerseys.us.com/nhl-jerseys-china_chicago-blackhawks-jersey-china/ . - Holden Cook and Kyle Hope combined for seven points as the Owen Sound Attack downed the visiting Barrie Colts 5-1 on Wednesday in Ontario Hockey League action.http://www.cheapauthenticjerseys.us.com/nike-nfl-jerseys-china_new-england-patriots-jersey-china/ . - Former NFL safety DarrenSharper pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges that he drugged and raped two women he met at a West Hollywood night club, while the emergence of a new accuser in Florida left him under investigation in five states. With the leagues announcement last week, the fun starts four days early this year. With the quarterbacks off the board already, the non-imports could be the ones making the headlines on Tuesday. VIRGINIA WATER, England -- Shane Lowry birdied his closing two holes for a 2-under 70 Friday to join ThomasBjorn in the lead after the second round of the BMW PGA Championship. jerseys from china . Lowry overcame a double bogey on the ninth hole by making four birdies on his back nine to erase a two-shot deficit to Bjorn, who carded a 72 on a day of intermittent rain showers. The duo was four shots clear of the field with 10-under totals of 134. Spains Rafa Cabrera-Bello (73) and former BMW PGA winner LukeDonald (67) were tied for third. RoryMcIlroy was another shot back along with Swedish duo JonasBlixt and HenrikStenson after all three carded 71. The 27-year old Lowry won the 2009 Irish Open in a playoff as an amateur, and then added the 2012 Portugal Masters title after turning professional. This, though, would be by far the biggest win of his career. "I just have to go out and keep doing what I have been doing," the 142nd-ranked Irishman said. "Ive got my coach with me this week, so hes quite good at getting me ready to play no matter what situation Im in. And it will be good to go out with Thomas tomorrow and see how I get on." Bjorn led by two shots after the first round of the European Tours flagship event, but found that advantage gone with bogeys at the first and seventh holes. But Bjorn birdied his 15th and final holes minutes before Lowry birdied 17 and the last to finish tied for the lead with the Dane. "Well go out and work hard on the weekend and see what the conditions are like and try and play the golf course and not the opponents," Bjorn said. "Theres two very hard days ahead of us, so we know what this championship is all about. " Defending champion Matteo Manassero missed the cut after following up an 80 with a 71. McIlroy fought back from double bogey on the seventh hole, which he eagled the day before, to stay in contention. McIlroy finished much better than he started, as he eagled the par-five 12th for a second straight day, and birdied three of his last four holes. "The way the conditions were this morning, being 3-over par after seven wasnt all that bad, and it wasnt disastrous," he said. Blixt, the Masters runner-up, is eyeing his maiden European Tour victory. "My golf hasnt been too great but I kind of saved myself a couple of times, hitting some really good shots," Blixt said. "I dont think now with the rain settling in that anyone is going to run away with it. "But I cant remember the last time I played wearing so much clothing. It became really cold out there." wholesale jerseys . -- The Erie Otters won their eighth straight game with a four-goal outburst in the third en route to an 8-4 win over the Sarnia Sting in Ontario Hockey League play Saturday. cheap nfl jerseys . - Once GeraldGreen gets going, he doesnt think he can be stopped. Henderson threw the ninth for his ninth save, striking out pinch-hitter ScottVanSlyke with runners on first and second. "When the bullpen comes together like that and shuts those guys out for the rest of the game, even though their record isnt that great, thats a good hitting team," said Fiers, who got out of a bases-loaded jam with one out in the fourth. "We definitely did a great job coming out of the pen." Greinke (2-1), making his second start since returning from a broken left collarbone, gave up season highs of nine hits, five earned runs and three walks in four-plus innings against his former team. The right-hander, traded by the Brewers to the Los Angeles Angels last July 27 before signing with the Dodgers in the off-season, had won his first 15 decisions in Milwaukee. "I didnt think about it at all," Greinke said. "Everything was bad, not just command. Just no feel out there, no adjustments to be made. Started out bad. I got out of some jams early but never really got better." Greinke gave up four runs in the fourth by allowing hits to the first five batters. JeanSegura led off with a triple over the head of right fielder AndreEthier and came home to tie the score at 2-2 on a single by RyanBraun. Brewers starter HiramBurgos lasted only 3 1-3 innings, as the rookie right-hander gave up two earned runs, six hits, four walks and struck out three. "It sure would be nice to get into the seventh inning with some of our starters," said Milwaukee manager Ron Roenicke. "Our pitch count is going up way too fast. He got himself into trouble but made some pitches to get out of it." Lucroys two-out single in the first gave Milwaukee a 1-0 lead. Los Angeles went ahead in the fourth on run-scoring singles by Greinke and NickPunto. However, the Dodgers left 14 runners on base, including nine in the first five innings, to lose for the seventh time in their last eight road games. "Thats really kind of been the story as far as our offence has been concerned," Los Angeles manager Don Mattingly said. "We had the right people up in the right spots. We had our chances. We just werent able to do it." NOTES: All 10 of the Dodgers hits were singles. . Milwaukee won for just the second time in its last nine home games. ... HALIFAX -- The mayor of Halifax says the city should have its own mixed-use stadium and he likes the idea of having a CFL team as an anchor tenant, but Mike Savage says discussions with the league and potential investors are just starting. http://www.nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net/Nike-nfl-jerseys_New-england-patriots-jersey.html . Savage, who met Monday in Halifax with CFL commissioner Mark Cohon, declined to discuss timelines or the degree of interest from the private sector or other levels of government -- the lack of which has sunk previous bids. "We dont have a stadium and I dont have a model for a stadium," the mayor told a news conference at a downtown hotel. "I have a belief that we should have a stadium in this municipality and it would be great if the CFL was part of that... . This is the year we have to figure out how serious we are about having a stadium." Savage said city council voted two years ago to contribute $20 million toward construction of a 20,000-seat stadium for the 2015 FIFA Womens World Cup of soccer, but there werent enough partners to make the proposal a reality. At the time, the provincial government said it wasnt interested in contributing, which left private investors reluctant to sign on. "There is an atmosphere in this city that says we can do some things that we couldnt do before," Savage said. "In terms of a stadium, the private sector will always say, Wheres government on this? " Cohon said establishing a CFL team in Halifax is part of the leagues long-term plan. But he declined to name any of the national or local business leaders that he and the mayor are talking to. "Its Day 1, guys," he said. "Its our first meeting." The commissioner repeatedly pointed to the new CFL franchise in Ottawa, the RedBlacks, as a potential model for Halifax. But he stressed that the talks that led to that teams rebirth took seven years to come to fruition. Cohon said the new, mixed-use stadium in Ottawa, the result of a public-private partnership, features a large retail space, condominiums, parkland and office space. The total cost for the project was $290 million, with $173 million coming from the city, the projects website says. "We have a proven model that is working right now in Ottawa," Cohon said. "We have to think big. Dont just think about CFL. Think about this as a catalyst for a bigger opportunity." No one in the sports community was expecting a big announcement Monday, considering Cohon had said last week the Halifax meetings were just exploratory. Still, Cohon suggested that Halifax is the next logical location for a CFL franchise, even though there has been significant interest expressed in Moncton. "I think the challenge in Moncton, its a bit of a smaller community with a smaller business community," he said. CFL teams last played an exhibition game in Halifax in 2005, and there have been three Touchdown Atlantic games in Moncton. Cohon said all CFL teams except one is either making a profit or breaking even. Staying in the black requires annual revenue between $17 million and $20 million, he said. Despite Cohons optimism, plans to build a stadium in Halifax have gone off the rails three times in the past 30 years. In the mid-1980s, financing fell through for a 30,000-seat stadium that was supposed to be used by a CFL team called the Atlantic Schooners. In March 2007, the city and the province pulled out of a bid to host the 2014 Commonwealth Games when cost estimates jumped from $785 million to almost $1.7 billion. Plans for a 20,000-seat stadium died along with the bid. nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net .com) - The Edmonton Oilers have made NailYakupov a healthy scratch for the second straight game for tonights game against the Washington Capitals. http://www.nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net/ . JaromeIginla and ZdenoChara each had two goals, TuukkaRask made 25 saves and the Bruins beat the Philadelphia Flyers 6-1 Saturday.DALLAS -- AndrewLadd stepped on the ice in a shootout knowing Winnipeg had lost two in a row after regulation. The Jets captain made it a happy ending this time. Ladd scored the only goal in a shootout, OndrejPavelec had 35 saves and the Winnipeg Jets beat the Dallas Stars 2-1 on Saturday night. The Jets played past regulation for the third straight game and fourth in the past five. They snapped a three-game losing streak. "Yeah, nice to be on the other side of an overtime and shootout game for sure," Ladd said. After JamieBenn hit the post and AlexChiasson was stuffed easily by Pavelec in the shootout, Ladd beat KariLehtonen on the glove side. The Jets got the win when RayWhitney missed wide. OlliJokinen missed on Winnipegs first attempt. The Jets were penalized for too many men on the ice with 24.6 seconds left in regulation, and Pavelec made a pad save on a point-blank shot from Benn just a few seconds after the faceoff. "We need him to be our best player on a lot of nights," Ladd said of Pavelec. "He bailed us out a couple times, but still thought we did a lot of good things." The Stars had a 4-on-3 advantage for the first 1:35 of overtime, but the Jets had the two best scoring chances during that stretch. BryanLittle was stuffed by Lehtonen, and ZachBogosian couldnt finish a play, trying to beat Lehtonen with a crossover on the goalies glove side. "We made some ill-advised decisions," said Stars coach Lindy Ruff, who returns to Buffalo on Monday night for his first game since getting fired during his 15th season with the Sabres in February. "We gave some pucks up again. Our shots are going to stay high against until we manage the puck better." Lehtonen had 37 saves for Dallas, including four in the final minute of overtime, but lost for just the second time this season. Winnipeg won in Dallas in its first visit since relocating from Atlanta, and for just the second time in the franchises 14 seasons. &"These three in a row, losing that extra point would have been tough on our group," Jets coach Claude Noel said.www.nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net. "So I thought we got rewarded." StephaneRobidas pulled Dallas even at 1-all at 6:36 of the third period when his shot from the point went through the legs of LaneMacDermid and under Pavelec. The assists went to MacDermid and VernonFiddler, who carried the puck into the zone and flipped a pass backward to Robidas. "Its tough to win games when you have bad starts," Fiddler said. "Youre playing catch-up hockey. We cant be a team that just turns it on in the third and expect to win." EvanderKane opened the scoring at 3:28 of the second with a goal during a delayed penalty as an extra Winnipeg skater was joining the play. Kane settled the puck with his glove on the right wing and shot it past Lehtonen as the goalie was settling back in after jumping to make a pad save on a shot. TylerSeguin, who had a career-high four points when Dallas beat Winnipeg 4-1 for its only road win earlier this month, was held scoreless but had a team-high five shots. Winnipeg just missed going up 2-0 in the opening seconds of the third period on a rush that ended with Dallas defenceman JordieBenn sweeping the puck out of a wide open crease after a shot hit the post. The Stars had a good chance to go in front with about 6 minutes left, but Seguin couldnt control the puck with Pavelec out of position. Notes: The Winnipeg franchise had just one previous win in Dallas dating to its days in Atlanta. ... Stars defenceman AlexGoligoski played nearly 20 minutes after he was a healthy scratch in Thursdays 5-1 win over Calgary. KevinConnauton, who replaced Goligoski against the Flames, was a scratch against the Jets. ... Winnipeg opened the second of 10 back-to-back sets this season. The Canadian mens Olympic hockey team practised for the first time in Sochi on Monday, providing a look into the potential makeup of the lineup for Thursdays tournament opener against Norway. Manny Machado Jersey . According to TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun, the coaching staff admitted the likelihood of tinkering with the lines used in practice over the next two days, particularly the fourth unit. Here are the practice lines with extra players in parenthesis: FORWARDS ChrisKunitz - SidneyCrosby - JeffCarterPatrickSharp - JonathanToews - RickNashPatrickMarleau - RyanGetzlaf - CoreyPerryJamieBenn - JohnTavares - PatriceBergeron(MartinSt.Louis, MattDuchene) DEFENCE DuncanKeith - SheaWeberJayBouwmeester - AlexPietrangeloMarc-EdouardVlasic - DrewDoughty(P.K.Subban, DanHamhuis) LeBrun added that JohnTavares skated with RyanGetzlaf and CoreyPerry, but that PatrickMarleau would likely slot in on the wing with the Anaheim Ducks tandem. In that circumstance, the plan would be for Tavares to centre the fourth line with JamieBenn on the left wing and PatriceBergeron on the right. TSNs Ryan Rishaug tweeted that Tavares said he "played the wing for 95 per cent of the lockout while in Bern (Switzerland)." OKLAHOMA CITY - Prior to Sundays game - a game no rational person expected them to be competitive in, let alone win - Raptors coach Dwane Casey spoke about his teams newfound mental toughness. Cheap NFL Jerseys From China . "I like the toughness factor in certain situations where last year and two years ago wed get bumped, get hit [and] wouldnt respond," Casey said an hour and a half before facing the league-best Thunder, a team that hadnt yet lost at home. "Weve grown up from that standpoint and learning how to win is huge." To suggest that Casey was foreshadowing is giving him too much credit. He couldnt have known or genuinely expected what was about to happen. No one did. But he was on to something. This is a different Raptors team than the one Casey was referring to, the one that would cower from adversity in years past. They were supposed to go winless on this exceptionally difficult Western Conference road swing. Instead, theyve won their first two games. Im seeing it growing," Casey said of his teams resiliency after shocking the hosting Thunder, 104-98, winning four straight on the road for the first time since 2002. "It was one of those things where our guys fought through it and we could have folded or packed it in but they stuck with it and stuck together most of all and didnt fall apart." He called it their best win of the season, which is a given. To take it one step further, it was the Raptors most impressive victory of the three-year Casey era and for all the criticism Torontos coach takes, he had his fingerprints all over it. Casey earned his pay check Sunday evening. He didnt sit down, he didnt relax. He couldnt, not against this team. The Raptors got off to a quick start but withstood the inevitable counterpunch, they rose above spotty officiating and stood their ground when they needed to the most. Through it all Casey was manic on the sidelines. "Sit down Coach," a Thunder fan behind the Raptors bench kept yelling. He didnt. The Raptors were coming off an impressive win in Dallas, defeating a Mavericks team that was 11-2 at home on Friday. The Thunder, winners of nine straight and 17 of 18 overall, were perfect in 13 games at Chesapeake Energy Arena. Toronto threw the first punch and led by six at the break. They were "the aggressor," as Casey puts it, and they paid for it. The Thunder had attempted 22 free throws at the half, making them all, while Toronto shot just 10. That trend continued into the third when, finally the lopsided officiating began to seep into the psyche of a young team that has never been known for their mental resolve. A nine-point lead early in the third quarter turned into a nine-point deficit going into a fourth. Collectively Raptors fans thought, here we go again. The Thunder were fighting back - as we expected - and the Raptors couldnt catch a break from the officials. They missed 17 of 19 field goal attempts to end the frame. Thats when something seemed different. They didnt run, they didnt hide, they hit right back. For that, Casey and his players unanimously credited the work of veteran newcomer JohnSalmons. "I thought JohnSalmons maturity came through," Casey said of the reserve forward, who scored nine of his 14 playing the entire fourth quarter. "He has a settling effect when hes in the game and it helps us. It rubs off on DeMar and Terrence. He doesnt get rattled." "JohnSalmons, I mean give him the game ball, offensively and defensively," added KyleLowry. "Just, here, take the ball. He was a big-time player tonight." For the second straight game Salmons came up big when it mattered most. On Friday he slowed down MontaEllis and two days later he was a big part of the brigade that frustrated KevinDurant, holding him to 24 points on 5-of-16 shooting, 1-of-6 in the fourth, and forcing his six turnovers. A 12-year vet, Salmons was an afterthought in the seven-player deal that sent RudyGay to Sacramento earlier this month. He was - and probably is - a temporary Raptor, a contract that can be moved at the deadline or easily bought out in the offseason. A day after the trade was finalized, he stood in front of the local media without much in the way of emotion or excitement, complaining about being tired from the trip. He has brought more to this team than anyone could have expected. "Im not a rah-rah guy at all but Ive been around for a long time," he said. "Ive experienced a lot so I just try to give my advice when I can." Taking the lead of Salmons, his teammates remained even-keeled when things looked to be going south. Nobody panicked. They executed and made good decisions, the right plays down the stretch. "Weve done a great job of just everyone cheering for each other, supporting each other and nobodys getting their head down," said Lowry, who continues to play the best basketball of his career, leading the team with 22 points and nine assists on Sunday. "Everyones focusing on winning the game no matter how bleak it looks." DeRozan played well, scoring 17 points against a tough defender in ThaboSefolosha, someone who has given him fits in the past and once again, AmirJohnson was the unsung hero. Johnson - who recorded a double-double of 17 points and 13 rebounds - made some crucial defensive plays down the stretch, switching off on Durant and swatting a RussellWestbrook floater in the final two minutes of the game. "I cant [say enough], theres too much to say about him," Lowry said, or attempted to say about Johnson. "Hes just an unbelievable player. He had his struggles (early in the season) but we all said hell be alright once he finds his groove. And look at him, hes playing unbelievable. He guarded KevinDurant as tough as he did and the other night he guarded Dirk (Nowitzki) as tough as he did. You just have to tip your hat to him." Back atop the Atlantic Division, the Raptors play their final game before a three-day Christmas break in San Antonio on the second night of a back-to-back Monday. The Spurs have the third-best record in the West and are 9-3 at home. The Raptors are not supposed to win. Care to bet against them? chinajerseysnflwholesale.com .m. LAS VEGAS -- Just a few weeks after Fresno State appeared poised for a BCS trip and a breakthrough season, the Bulldogs ended up busted in Vegas.http://www.nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net/ . Derek Carr didnt attempt to hide his disappointment when his college career ended with a 45-20 loss to Southern California in the Las Vegas Bowl on Saturday. The record-setting quarterback also wouldnt allow one loss to erase every good memory from a landmark season in Fresno State history. "I thought our guys were ready to go," Carr said. "There wasnt any lack of focus on any side of the ball. USC just beat us." Carr passed for just 217 yards and two TDs under constant pressure in his final game at Fresno State (11-2), which fell behind 35-6 at halftime. With their fifth straight bowl defeat, the Bulldogs failed to secure the first 12-win season in school history. Right down to the script "Bulldogs" on the helmet, Fresno State wore the same uniform combination sported by the team that beat USC in the 1992 Freedom Bowl, one of the biggest wins in school history. But the Mountain West champions still havent won a bowl game since 2007, losing six of their last seven. "I think if you look at the body of work, this team won 11 ballgames and won a second straight conference championship," Fresno State coach Tim DeRuyter said. "Theres critics out there. Everyone has got an opinion. I know in my heart we had a really, really fine football team. We didnt play our best game today, and that goes on me. Ive got to do a better job of getting our guys ready." Cody Kessler passed for a career-high 344 yards and a bowl-record four touchdowns for the Trojans and interim coach Clay Helton, the third of USCs four head coaches in less than three months. Kessler outdid Carr, his fellow Bakersfield native and friend, setting the Las Vegas Bowl record for TD passes before halftime and finishing 22 for 30. USC scored three touchdowns in a nine-minute burst in the second quarter, and Javorius Allen clinched it with his second TD run with 4:44 to play. Carr went 30 for 54 under constant pressure from the blitzing Trojans, who eliminated Fresno States running game and twice stopped the Bulldogs on fourth downs in the first half. Fresno States two TD catches by Isaiah Burse and Davante Adams both came on short drives resulting from USC mistakes on special teams, and Derron Smith returned an interception 41 yards for a touchdown. Carr, the nations leader in yards passing and total offence, became the fourth player in NCAA history to surpass 5,000 yards passing and 50 TD passes during the game. But Carr leaves Fresno State without a bowl victory, never getting the Bulldogs moving against one of the nations best pass defences. "Blame me. Blame me always," Carr said. "Ive got to do a better job of leading, and Ive got to do a better job of getting our guys in better spots. Thats my fault." Marqise Lee and Nelson Agholor had two touchdown catches apiece, Allen rushed two more scores, and the Trojans (10-4) answered every question about their own motivation by repeatedly dancing on the sideline during the storied programs first post-season victory since 2009. From Kesslers smooth offence to a dynamic defensive effort against Fresno States FBS-best passing game, USC was uniformly outstanding in its only game under Helton. The offensive co-ordinator filled the one-game gap between coaches Ed Orgeron and Steve Sarkisian on the Trojans coaching carousel, but USC picked up right where Orgeron left off after its desultory start to the season under Lane Kiffin. The Trojans ended up celebrating under confetti in the north end zone, joining friends and family on a chilly desert night in front of a sellout crowd at Sam Boyd Stadium. After the teams traded touchdowns on their opening drives, the Trojans blocked Fresno States extra point attempt -- and it started a deluge. Agholor caught TD passes of 40 and 17 yards for the Trojans next two scores. Allen made a 24-yard TD run through bad tackling midway through the second quarter, and Lee turned a short pass into a 40-yard TD with 37 seconds left in the half.www.nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net .J. -- Thierry Henry and Lloyd Sam scored second-half goals to give the New York Red Bulls their first win of the season, 2-1 over the Philadelphia Union on Wednesday night. http://www.nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net/Nike-nfl-jerseys_New-england-patriots-jersey.html . "Its huge," Casey said of Torontos matchup with the fifth-place Hawks, who sit 1.5 games behind the Raptors for third place in the Eastern Conference. "Its not like in the past where games dont matter. In the past we were building, getting guys experience.TORONTO The bubble has just about burst and whatever remained of the Maple Leafs sinking playoff hopes is probably just on life support. A game they had to have Saturday fell apart like so many others during a losing skid that now numbers eight games. And a season, promising as recently as two weeks ago, has unraveled into a collapse that mirrors, if not eclipses, the infamous 18-wheeler of 2012. "I cant describe it right now," said a befuddled JoffreyLupul following a 4-2 loss to Detroit, the Red Wings jumping two points ahead of the Leafs with two games still in hand. "This is probably the first time, after this game, that things are probably looking a little bleak for us." The scene was cheery in the visitors dressing room at Staples Center in Los Angeles after a resilient win over the Kings on March 13. The Leafs had stomped through the deathly California triangle with a pair of victories and had theirsights set on claiming second spot in the Atlantic Division, aberth in the postseason all but assumed following their 15th win in a remarkable stretch of 22 games. They havent gotten a point since, losing eight straight in regulation for the first time in more than 25 years. It was more of the same in defeat against the Red Wings, still playing without their two best players in PavelDatsyuk and HenrikZetterberg. There was the stunning and all too familiar inconsistency. At once energetic, sharp and urgent in the opening period, the Leafs sputtered with errors in the second, spewing three goals in less than eight minutes. Troubling defensive breakdowns continued in that middle period meltdown.Detroit approached double-figures in odd-man opportunities for the evening, scoring three of their four goals in such situations, including two in that disastrouseight-minute stretch. "Its a very tough time," DionPhaneuf said after the defeat, the third to the Red Wings this season. "This loss is the most disappointing out of the eight. Theres no hiding that." PerplexedLeafs like Phaneuf were struggling to comprehend how it could unravel so quickly, how a season filled with so much promise could deteriorate in a manner of a couple weeks. "Sometimes, its just been poor execution," Lupul said. "Sometimes, its been defensive lapses. Other times, the other teams played really well, but its our job to win hockey games and we havent been able to do it." Technically still alive, the Leafs would need to find an unbelievable and unlikely winning streak to revive their playoff hopes along with plenty of help from the likes of Columbus, Detroit, and even Washington. Up three points on Montreal after that win in L.A., Toronto now trails the Habs by 13, an incredible and hurried reversal rarely seen. "We went from a position where we were in control of our own destiny now to sitting at home cheering against other teams," Lupul said. "That part of its very frustrating." And now, or perhaps very soon, come the difficult questions for general manager Dave Nonis and his management team. What should the future hold for head coach Randy Carlyle? How much of what took place this season falls on his shoulders? Are the teams constant defensive failings a matter of coaching or are certain segments of the roster simply too flawed? How much of the collapse, for that matter, is the roster? Is it both the coaching staff and roster that need adjusting? Does a core featuring Kessel, van Riemsdyk, Lupul, Phaneuf, Kadri, Clarkson, Bernier and Rielly need serious tweaking? Are these the foundations of a team that can eventually win the ultimate prize? Where and what improvements can be attained? Where does the club go from here? A collapse of this magnitude shouldthrow everyone and everything into question. Ron Wilson got the axeduring the2012meltdownwith only minor roster adjustments that summer (LukeSchenn notably traded). MikhailGrabovski, ClarkeMacArthur and MattFrattin were among the jettisoned following the Game 7 unraveling last spring. What comes next this time around? Six games do still remain, but hope has been drained from these Leafs and aonce (and perhaps still) brightfuture has suddenly become muddled with questions. The bubble has just about burst. "These are the tough days in sports when you dont get the job done," said Carlyle. Five Points 1. Nothing Quitte Like This Formerly with the mostly dominant Kings, JonathanBernier said hed never been through something quite like this. nflcheapjerseywholesalechina. . "Probably not," Bernier said. "Having a long losing streak like that, especially close to the end of the season, never happened to me before." Others like CodyFranson were forced to reflect on the horrors of 2012, which saw the Leafs lose 19 of 24 games en route to another absence from the postseason. "I dont think it brings back memories of that," he said. "We havent thought about that stretch back then. I thought weve come out with a lot of good efforts and theyre ending up on the wrong side of the stick. Its not like were playing bad hockey, its just one of those things where every mistake that we do make ends up [in the net]." "The try is there, [but] we didnt get the job done," said Lupul. "We have to deal with that now." Losers in nine of the past 10, the Leafs lost 10 of 11 before Wilson was dismissed in March of 2012. 2. Bernier Back-to-Back Probably still not at 100 per cent, Bernier nonetheless started both ends of a back-to-back for just the second time in his NHL career. Facing a slew of odd-man rush opportunities, the 25-year-old gave up four goals for the third consecutive game. "I felt really good tonight," he said. DarrenHelm scored three of the four on Bernier. The first saw him pick off JakeGardiner at the offensive blue-line shorthandedbefore eventually outmaneuvering Torontos power-play unit for a backhand marker. Helm would add a second on a redirection - he was all alone in front - the third and final dagger on a breakaway. GustavNyquist notched the other Detroit goal, beating Bernier five-hole after JohanFranzens shot attempt ricocheted off the skate of Phaneuf movingin reverse. In three starts upon returning a groin injury that kept him out five games, Bernier has allowed 12 goals on 105 shots for an off-kilter.886 save percentage. Considering his earlier theatrics this season, its worth wondering just how healthy he really is. 3. Kadri Benched NazemKadri was on the ice for back-to-back goals on consecutive shifts in the middle frame and was eventually benched for it. The 23-year-old was casual on the back-check on the sequence that led to thesecond Wings goal from Nyquist, out-muscled by JoakimAndersson in a one-on-one battle that resulted in the third marker from Helm. Kadri began the third frame on the fourth line, joined by JayMcClement and TroyBodie. He totaled just four shifts and less than four minutes in the period, finishing with just over 14minutes onthe evening. The London, Ontario native has just one goal and four points in the past 11 games. 4. Kessel 40-Goal Chase Rightfully lost in the Leafs collapse, but still a point of intrigue,is PhilKessels chase for 40 goals. The 26-year-old posted a career-high of 37 back in the 2011-12 season, but remains stuck on 36 this year with just six games to play. The teams leading scorer finished March with four goals and 10 points in 15 games. Stung on the foot by a JamesvanRiemsdyk pass attempt in the second frame, Kessel was seen limping around the underbelly of the ACC afterward. Carlyle had no update on his status. 5. Gardiner Revival With two assists in defeat on Saturday, JakeGardiner finished March with 11 points and a share of the team lead (TylerBozak). The 23-year-old is up to 28 points on the year, thirdon the defencebehind DionPhaneuf (31) and CodyFranson (30). He led the Leafs with more than 23 minutes on Saturday. Franson, who scored the first Toronto goal, set a career-high with his 30th point of the year, eclipsing the 29 he posted last season. Stats-Pack 1-9-0 Leafs record in the past 10 games. 11 Points in the past 12 games for JakeGardiner. 30 Points this season for CodyFranson, a new career-high. .886 Save percentage for JonathanBernier in three starts after return from a groin injury. Special Teams Capsule PP: 0-2Season: 20.4% (6th) PK: 3-3Season: 78.4 (28th) Quote of the Night "I cant describe it right now. ST. Bo Jackson Jersey . PAUL, Minn. -- A mid-game adjustment was key to the Minnesota Wild earning two points Tuesday night. Moved to the top line, JustinFontaine scored late in the second period, JoshHarding stopped 16 shots for his first shutout of the season and the Wild beat the Nashville Predators 2-0. JasonPominville added an empty-netter for the Wild, who have scored just seven goals in the past five games while posting a 2-2-1 record. "Its all about wins right now, and we havent been winning, so tonight was a step in the right direction," said Harding, who lowered his goals-against average to a league-best 0.96. PekkaRinne made 27 saves for Nashville, which failed to get a point for the first time in six games. The Predators have allowed just five goals in regulation in last four games, going 2-1-1 in that stretch. Fontaine broke the scoreless tie at 18:53 of the second period when he charged down the slot and was able to put a rebound into the Predators net for his second goal of the season. "Thats one of those situations you have to manage," Rinne said. "You have to find a way to go to intermission 0-0." Fontaine didnt start the game paired with ZachParise and MikkoKoivu, but with the Minnesota offence again failing to capitalize on its many chances, coach Mike Yeo replaced NinoNiederreiter as the top lines right wing. "It started in practice yesterday. Im kind of a big fan of left shot-right shot, and wed been talking about this and talked to Mikko about it yesterday, so it was something in the back of our minds," Yeo said. "For them to be able to attack through the neutral zone with some speed, it certainly helps if youve got a guy on the strong side." Beginning a stretch where it plays six of seven games at home, Minnesota dominated for much of the game, but continued to struggle in the offensive end. The Wild, who entered the game averaging 30.7 shots per game, sent 13 at Rinne in the first 13 minutes, but couldnt get anything past him. Rinne made two key stops on a penalty kill to thwart MarcoScandella and DanyHeatley and later stopped Koivu in front. "Weve been struggling to score goals, but if we keep throwing pucks to the net, theyre going to go in," Fontaine said. Rinne had to come up big because Nashville struggled to get shots at Harding. The Predators had just three first-period shots, six in the second and seven in the third. "Our best player was our goaltender. We had too many guys that didnt bring their A game," Nashville coach Barry Trotz said. "I thought wed be a little more even. I didnt think we were much of a participant much of the game until the third period." Hardings best save came late in the second when he stopped EricNystrom, who had slipped behind two Wild defencemen during a rare Nashville rush. "I cant take credit for this one," Harding said. "If you watch the replays or watch the whole game over again, you cant say enough about what the D-men did and what the forwards did. That was as sound a game as far as breaking the puck out in front of the net, blocking shots, good sticks. This isnt me. This is for sure a team shutout." Minnesota played with just five defencemen much of the game after losing JonasBrodin less than 5 minutes into the game when a dump-in by GabrielBourque hit Brodin in the face. Leaving blood on the ice, Brodin went straight to the Wild locker room. Yeo said Brodin was taken to the hospital for X-rays. The Wild nearly lost another blue-liner when Scandella was hit in the leg by a slap shot from SheaWeber late in the period. Scandella struggled to the Wild bench before being helped to the locker room. However, he returned for the second period. NOTES: Entering the game, Nashville had the leagues best faceoff win percentage at 55.8 per cent; Minnesota was second at 55.7. The Predators had a 55-45 advantage in the game. ... Wild D RyanSuter played his 600th game, the first 542 with Nashville before signing a 13-year, $98 million deal with Minnesota on July 4, 2012. ... Predators C MikeFisher missed his third straight game with a lower body injury. ... Wild D KeithBallard missed his fourth straight game after being hit in the face by a puck Oct. 14. Norichika Aoki Authentic Jersey . And the Ottawa Redblacks linebacker wanted to be sure his words delivered their full effect. "Its an insult," he said over the phone Wednesday after the CFL Players Association lifted its media ban, giving its members the ability to speak openly about stalling collective bargaining talks. Mike Moustakas Jersey . So on Friday, they went to work. The two-time Eastern Conference runner-ups announced they had signed three free agents -- backup big man LavoyAllen, swingman C.With the trade deadline passed and the stretch run to the NHL season beginning, its time for Scott Cullens latest update to the NHL Awards races. On one hand, there are familiar names throughout, with previous Hart, Norris, Selke and Jack Adamswinners named as best through three quarters of this season. However, as we get more games in the file, the leading candidates begin to separate from the rest of the class. Its not to say that others cant mount a strong finish to alter the outcomes, but as the season gets closer to the end, there isnt as much wiggle room. Anyway, here are my picks for awards through first three quarters of this season: HART TROPHY Winner: SidneyCrosby, C, PittsburghRunners-up: RyanGetzlaf, C, Anaheim; AlexOvechkin, RW, WashingtonComment: Its no surprise that a healthy Crosby is in position to win the award as the leagues Most Valuable Player, because hes 14 points up in the scoring race and playing at the level to which weve become accustomed, when hes in the lineup. This year, he hasnt missed a game, and that is the biggest reason that Crosby at the forefront of the MVP discussion. Getzlaf is scoring at a career-best rate of 1.17 points per game, leading the team that sits on top of the standings. While his possession numbers are solid, Getzlafs line has been particularly fortunate in terms of shooting percentage, which leads to a dominant goal differential (57 for, 25 against) when Getzlaf is on the ice during 5-on-5 play. Its not the kind of thing that can be sustained long-term (as in year-over-year) but, this year, it puts him in contention for the Hart. I recognize there may not be a lot of observers that would consider Ovechkin among the most valuable in the league this year, yet I do despite his deficiencies. Hhes so far ahead of the rest of the league as a goal-scorer, that I cant ignore that contribution. Right now, Ovechkin is on pace for a 57-goal season. Second-place PhilKessel is on pace for a 42-goal season. The last player to win the goal-scoring race by 15 goals or more was BrettHull, in 1991-1992, when Hull scored 70 and KevinStevens scored 54. (Incidentally, in 1990-1991, Hull scored 86 goals, 35 more than a trio of players -- Theo Fleury, Cam Neely and SteveYzerman -- tied for second.) Its just not that often that the leagues top goal-scorer is that far ahead of the field and, this year, Ovechkin is. Additionally, while he does plenty of damage on the power play, Ovechkin also leads the league with 26 even-strength goals, so its not all one-timers from the faceoff dot with the man advantage. Looking beyond those three, Kessel, JoePavelski and JonathanToews are among others who could warrant consideration. NORRIS TROPHYWinner: DuncanKeith, ChicagoRunners-up: ErikKarlsson, Ottawa; VictorHedman, Tampa BayComment: This season hasnt been all that different from DuncanKeiths 2010 Norris Trophy-winning campaign. Hes played his typically-strong two-way game, though he is down more than three minutes per game compared to his peak playing time, and has added more offence this season, scoring at the second-best rate of his carerr (0.79 points per game). There are some that decry the play of the Senators ErikKarlsson, because hes not a hard-hitting block of granite on the blueline and thats their vision of a defenceman, but Karlsson is a game-changer. Hes a rare defenceman that can drive his teams offence and his negative plus-minus is more a function of relatively bad luck on percentages (both shooting and save) when hes on the ice. After Keith and Karlsson, there are a number of worthy candidates, with my preferred choice being VictorHedman, who has been great, while adding an offensive component that is far ahead of his previously established levels. Im not sure that Team Sweden is on board with this vote, but thats their prerogative. Some familiar names -- SheaWeber, P.K.Subban and AlexPietrangelo -- are also viable candidates, close enough that a really strong finish could alter the outcome. VEZINA TROPHYWinner: BenBishop, Tampa BayRunners-up: TuukkaRask, Boston; SemyonVarlamov, ColoradoComment: As a 27-year-old who had played 45 career games coming into this season, Bishop has been a major surprise, a rock for a LLightning team that has maintained its playoff position despite missing StevenStamkos for a couple of months. Yordano Ventura Jersey. . Rask has pretty much always been a top puck-stopper, with a .929 save percentage over the past three seasons, and hes played a career-high 46 games this year, handling a number one workload over a full season for, really, the first time in his career. It hasnt been a smooth and steady road to the top for Varlamov, who has rebounded from a career-low .903 save percentage last season to post a career-best .925 save percentage this season. That might be a matter of arbitrary end-points, with Varlamovs real performance level somewhere between those two extremes but, for this season, his numbers warrant award consideration. If not Varlamov, CareyPrice and JonathanBernier have both had strong seasons, strong enough that an impressive finish could push them into the discussion. CALDER TROPHYWinner: NathanMacKinnon, C, Colorado Runners-up: TylerJohnson, C, Tampa Bay; OlliMaatta, Pittsburgh Comment: Having set the record for the longest point streak by an 18-year-old rookie, MacKinnon is already looking like the kind of game-breaking skilled forward that teams hope to get with the No. 1 pick in the draft. Nothing like having a great pedigree and living up to it. MacKinnons closest challenger may be Johnson, an undrafted, 5-foot-9, 23-year-old who has simply scored wherever hes played and when Stamkos got hurt, Johnson took on more responsibility and continued to play at a high level. Its not easy for a teenage defenceman to step into the NHL and consistently play with poise, but dont tell that to Maatta, who has been a revelation for the Penguins. Injuries on the Pittsburgh blueline have forced the Penguins to use Maatta more than might have been initially anticipated, but hes risen to the challenge. Bruins power play quarterback ToreyKrug and Johnsons left winger, OndrejPalat, are other contenders. SELKE AWARDWinner: PatriceBergeron, BostonRunners-up: DavidBackes, St. Louis; JonathanToews, ChicagoComment: This isnt an easy award to hand out, though there are some consistent performers that tend to be in consideration year after year. Heres a list of centres that face a decent level of competition yet still have strong possession stats. In addition to Bergeron, Backes and Toews, who have been at the top of my lists for past couple seasons at least, AnzeKopitar, GabrielLandeskog and AlexanderSteen are first-rate two-way performers that warrant attention. JACK ADAMS AWARDWinner: Bruce Boudreau, Anaheim Runners-up: Ken Hitchcock, St. Louis; Jon Cooper, Tampa Bay. Comment: It can be difficult to gauge exactly what a coachs role is in a teams performance, so there is some guess work involved here. One of the factors I try to take out of the equation, or at least minimize in importance, is goaltending, because great goaltending can mask all manner of shortcomings. Anyway, Im not sure that Bruce Boudreau has done anything revolutionary with the Ducks that allows them to score on such a high percentage of their shots, but getting strong contributions from so many throughout the lineup has to be considered in some way a reflection of Boudreaus approach. Oh, yeah, the Ducks are also first place in the standings, so he has that working for him too. The St. Louis Blues play such a relentless, grinding game that Im inclined to credit a coach that can keep his team playing that style so effectively. Enter, Ken Hitchcock. Admittedly, Jon Cooper has the benefit of outstanding goaltending, thanks to BenBishop, but his team has survived without StevenStamkos and has done so with a lineup full of young, inexperienced players playing significant roles. For that, Cooper gets my nomination. There are many other qualified candidates. PatrickRoys Avalanche are exceeding expectations, Mike Yeo and Mike Babcock have managed to get through significant injuries and Claude Julien keeps the Bruins rolling with a steady spproach; all of these coaches deserve credit for their work behind the bench this season. SOCHI, Russia - SteveYzerman wont be going for a third Olympic gold medal. Cheap Stuttgart Jerseys . Team Canadas executive director says he will not lead the team into the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea. Yzerman built the team that beat Sweden 3-0 on Sunday to capture a second straight mens hockey gold at the Sochi Olympics. He leaves his post after leading Team Canada to back-to-back gold medals for the first time since 1948 and 1952. He assembled one of the best defensive lineups ever to wear the Maple Leaf in Sochi as Canada gave up just three goals in six games. But three who were in that position in the late 1990s and early 2000s -- Alain Vigneault, Michel Therrien and Claude Julien -- have gone on to do some impressive things in the NHL. A victory in the Eastern Conference final between Vigneaults New York Rangers and Therrien, in his second stint with Montreal, will put one of them in a Stanley Cup final. Between the three men, they will have been to the final five times. In 2008, Therrien reached the final with the Pittsburgh Penguins, losing in six games to the Detroit Red Wings. In 2011, Juliens Boston Bruins defeated Vigneaults Vancouver Canucks to claim the Stanley Cup. And in 2013, Julien had the Bruins back in the final only to lose to the Chicago Blackhawks. All three have credited the chance they got to coach middling-to-weak Montreal teams with their later success, even if their head coaching prospects were in doubt when they were eventually let go by the Canadiens. "You never know about the future," said the 50-year-old Therrien, whose team is coming off a second-round win over Juliens Bruins. "We learned a lot when we were young and that goes with experience. "Having to deal a lot with you (reporters) is a big part of our job. But it goes through a process. It goes with experience. Myself, Alain, Claude, we were young coaches at the time and we learned a lot. We started in Montreal and, Alain and me, we almost took the same route. We went back to the minors and went back to junior and the American League. "So Im glad for the success (Vigneault) had in Vancouver and New York. That was a great learning experience as a young coach to start in Montreal." There were actually four inexperienced coaches in a row, as Mario Tremblay got it started when he replaced Jacques Demers in 1995. But while Tremblay later worked as an assistant, he never got another head coaching job. In 1997, Tremblay was replaced by Vigneault, a former Ottawa Senators assistant who had been coaching in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. Viggneault was replaced midway through the 2000-01 campaign by Therrien, who in turn lost his job to Julien in 2003. Cheap Kansas City Chiefs Jerseys. Vigneault was out of coaching for two seasons but returned with the junior P.E.I. Rocket before being named head coach of the Manitoba Moose, the Canucks AHL affiliate at the time. He was promoted to the Vancouver job to start the 2006-07 season and promptly took the Canucks to a division title and got the Jack Adams Trophy as NHL coach of the year, beating out Therrien and Buffalos Lindy Ruff. The Quebec City natives Canucks finished first overall in the NHL twice. But a drop-off last season saw Vancouver opt for former Rangers coach John Tortorella while Vigneault signed a five-year deal with New York. Now Vigneaults looking for another trip to the final. "My first NHL gig as a head coach was in a beautiful place, a Canadian city where hockey is passionate, hockey is demanding," the 53-year-old said. "Expectations were always very high, so I learned a lot. "I worked with some great people. It took me six years to get another kick at the can and obviously when I got my other chance, I used my experience in Montreal and my experience of going back to junior and also going to the American League and tried to help my new NHL team the best way I could. Now, this year, the Rangers have given me another opportunity and thats what Im trying to do." When Therrien left Montreal, he got a job coaching the Penguins farm club in Wilkes-Barre and was promoted to the NHL club on Dec. 15, 2005. He was fired suddenly on Feb. 15, 2009, one season after going to the final, in favour of DanBylsma. The new coach got Pittsburgh back to the final and avenged the defeat of Therriens team the year before by beating the Red Wings for the Cup. Therrien worked in television while waiting for his next chance, which came when new general manager MarcBergevin hired him to return to the Canadiens at the start of last season. After Montreal, Julien was hired by the New Jersey Devils, but he also fell victim to a surprise firing late in the 2006-07 season despite a 47-24-8 record. The Bruins snapped him up the following season. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

Catch a doubleheader of September baseball action on TSN2 tonight. wholesale nfl jerseys . First, tied for top spot in the AL Central, division rivals go head-to-head when the Detroit Tigers host the Kansas City Royals. Then, the NL Wild Card-leading San Franciso Giants entertain the Arizona Diamondbacks. All the action gets underway at 7pm et/4pm pt. Royals at Tigers - 7pm et/4pm pt (TSN2) RickPorcello has gotten the better of JamesShields twice already this season. With a chance to move past Kansas City for first place in the American League Central, Porcello will try to make it a hat trick on Wednesday evening as the Detroit Tigers go for a three-game sweep of the Royals. Porcello is 15-10 with a 3.30 earned run average this season, but yielded six runs -- three earned -- and 11 hits over 6 2/3 frames of a loss to the Chicago White Sox on Aug. 31. The right-hander followed up with another setback to San Francisco on Friday, charged with six runs, one of them unearned, and 10 hits over a mere three innings of work. "It was a combination of some good pitches that got hit and some bad pitches that got hit, and they capitalized on all of them," Porcello said. The 25-year-old has allowed only three runs over 14 innings in a pair of wins over the Royals this year, defeating Shields both times. Shields goes up against Porcello again tonight and is 0-2 with a 5.49 ERA in three meetings with the Tigers overall on the year. Shields has won four of his last five decisions and pitched a gem last time out to get a 1-0 win over the New York Yankees on Friday. The righty gave up three hits and struck out six over 8 1/3 scoreless innings, retiring 11 in a row before allowing a one-out single in the ninth. "Any time you face this team its going to be a grind," Shields said. "To be able to pitch like that and save our bullpen for our road trip was nice." The 32-year-old Shields is 13-7 this season with a 3.23 ERA. Kansas City has lost 11 of 15 to Detroit this season, and allowed the Tigers to pull into a tie atop the AL Central by losing the first two games of this series. The Royals had won five of six overall coming in. MaxScherzer, who was roughed up for a career high-tying 10 runs in a meeting with Kansas City on June 17, held the Royals to one run over 6 2/3 frames in last nights 4-2 Detroit win. RajaiDavis smacked a two-run homer and J.D.Martinez added a solo shot in the triumph, Detroits third in a row overall. "This is a huge series and were getting huge wins," Scherzer said. "Were playing great as a team and everybody is contributing." The Royals nearly came back, putting their first two runners on base against JoeNathan in the ninth, but the closer struck out AlexGordon, picked off pinch-runner JarrodDyson at second base and fanned SalvadorPerez to notch his 30th save of the season. JasonVargas surrendered four runs on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings for Kansas City. "Two mistake pitches, both of them in the middle of the plate," Vargas said of his two homers allowed. While Kansas City closer GregHolland remains out due to a tight right triceps, Detroit reliever JoakimSoria is expected to be activated off the disabled list before tonights game. Soria, acquired from Texas on July 23, has been out since suffering a strained oblique on Aug. 9 and will provide a boost to the bullpen bridge to closer Nathan. Diamondbacks at Giants - 10pm et/7pm pt (TSN2) The San Francisco Giants continue their push toward the postseason on Wednesday when they play the second of three games against the Arizona Diamondbacks at AT&T Park. San Francisco drew first blood in this series on Tuesday, as YusmeiroPetit tossed another complete game against his former team, going the distance in the Giants 5-1 win. Petit was masterful, throwing an incredibly efficient 68 of his 84 pitches for strikes. The 29-year-old kept his pitch count low despite striking out a season high-tying nine batters. "Hes been a lift for us," said Giants manager Bruce Bochy. "He was hitting his spots tonight." Petit (5-3) was charged with a run on four hits in his first complete game since just over a year ago. He tossed a one-hitter against the D-backs on Sept. 6, 2013. The pitching performance overshadowed a career-best 5-for-5 effort at the plate from JoePanik. AngelPagan went 4-for-5 with three runs scored and BusterPosey drove in two runs for San Francisco, which has won seven straight games at home and pulled within 2 1/2 games of Los Angeles for the NL West lead. The Dodgers lost to San Diego Tuesday night. San Francisco is currently first in the NL wild card standings. Panik, Pagan, GregorBlanco and Petit accounted for all 12 Giants hits. San Francisco chased D-backs starter WadeMiley (7-11) after just two innings. Miley fell to 0-3 over his last five starts after giving up three runs on five hits and four walks. "I felt really, really good," Miley said. "Thats the most frustrating part. I felt really good in the bullpen. Just couldnt execute my fastball. Couldnt throw it close to where I wanted to throw it." Heading to the hill for the Giants on Wednesday will be righty RyanVogelsong, who is 8-10 with a 4.06 ERA. Vogelsong absorbed the loss last Wednesday in Colorado and looked bad in doing so, as he was rocked for eight runs and 10 hits in just five-plus innings. "Its an adventure out there," Vogelsong said. "The ball flies, especially during the day. Then every kind of bloop shot falls in because guys have to play so deep. Their infield grass is really quick, too. So it seems like a lot of ground balls get through that dont at a lot of places. Put that together and youre looking at a long day." Vogelsong has faced the D-backs 19 times (13 starts) and is 3-5 with a 4.67 ERA. Arizona, meanwhile, will counter with righty JoshCollmenter, who has won his last two decisions. Collmenter beat the San Diego Padres last Wednesday, holding them to a run and five hits over seven innings, as he improved to 10-7 to go along with a 3.81 ERA. He has allowed just two runs over his last three starts, spanning 21 2/3 innings. "Ive been able to locate, move the ball in and out and mix pitches up," Collmenter said. "Thats my game plan. Just trying to force contact. I dont want to be a guy that walks guys and gets behind in the count. Today I was a little more erratic than the last couple, but I was still able to make some pitches when I needed to and guys made some good plays for me." Collmenter is 5-1 lifetime versus the Giants with a 3.74 ERA in 16 games (5 starts). LONDON -- Carlos Tevez put Manchester City on the road to Wembley with an FA Cup hat trick on Saturday, two days after being arrested for a driving offence.wholesale jerseys . The Argentina striker also played a part in goals by Aleksandar Kolarov and David Silva as City crushed Barnsley 5-0 to reach the semifinals. Tevez helped to secure Citys biggest win of the season while out on bail after being arrested for driving with a suspended license. The maximum punishment is six months in prison. "It is his problem -- not ours," City manager Roberto Mancini said before quipping, "If it has this effect on him I hope the police can stop him every day." Wigan will also be playing at Wembley next month after reaching the semifinals for the first time in its 81-year history by beating Everton 3-0. But it was a bittersweet day for Wigan as the team was sucked back into the Premier League relegation zone after Aston Villa won 2-1 at Reading. With a game in hand, Wigan is three points behind Villa, but a point above both Reading and bottom-place Queens Park Rangers, which beat Sunderland 3-1. The tight relegation tussle is in contrast with the title race where Manchester United is 12 points ahead of City but in cup action on Sunday when it hosts Chelsea in the quarterfinals. The cup is Citys last realistic chance of winning a title this season, and Mancinis side has reached the semifinals without conceding a goal. Tevez took just 11 minutes to open the scoring against second-tier club Barnsley. After David Silvas strike was pushed onto the post by goalkeeper Luke Steele, Tevez was on hand to bundle in the rebound. Tevez turned provider in the 27th, with Kolarov meeting his cutback to double Citys lead. Tevez was on target again four minutes later from close range after connecting with Silvas pass. And the hat trick was completed five minutes into the second half after being set up by Samir Nasri. Tevez was also involved in the buildup that saw Silva score after being denied initially by Steele. "(The early goal) made a big difference because when you play against that kind of team you need to knock them down from the first minute, which we did and after that they lost confidence," Mancini said. For Wigan, topflight survival, rather than cup success, is the priority for owner Dave Whelan. But a trip to Wembley will give him happier memories of the national stadium after seeing his own career end there when he broke his leg playing for Blackburn in the 1960 FA Cup final. "It has been an absolutely wonderful day. In the first half we skinned Everton alive," Whelan said. "I had a dream in the week we came to Everton and beat them and then got Blackburn, who beat Millwall (on Sunday), in the semifinal. "Were halfway there. I hope it comes true and Id love to go to Wembley and play Blackburn." Wigans goals came inside a four-minute span in the first half. Maynor Figueroa headed in the opener at Goodison Park in the 31st minute from Jordi Gomezs corner. Callum McManaman was on target a minute later after outsprinting Sylvain Distin before striking past goalkeeper Jan Mucha, who was filling in for the injured Tim Howard. Gomez completed the scoring from outside the penalty area after latching onto Arouna Kones pass. "For us as a football club to go to Wembley is a unique moment -- an historic moment," Wigan manager Roberto Martinez said. "We want cup success, but not at the expense of the league form." Six of the bottom eight played on Saturday. QPR has back-to-back wins for the first time this season, and is four points from safety by beating Sunderland. After Steven Fletcher put Sunderland in front at Loftus Road, Loic Remy levelled before half time and Andros Townsend and Jermaine scored with exquisite half-volleys for the hosts. QPR is level on points with Reading but remains bottom because of fewer goals scored. Reading had gone ahead against Villa after Nathan Bakers 32nd-minute own goal but Christian Benteke equalized inside two minutes. And Gabriel Agbonlahor clinched the win for Villa, which is just above the relegation zone, three points ahead of Wigan, which has a game in hand. Southampton is a point ahead of Villa after drawing 0-0 at Norwich, whose striker Grant Holt had a stoppage time penalty saved by Artur Boruc. West Bromwich Albion rose to seventh by fighting back to beat Swansea 2-1. Lukaku cancelled out Luke Moores opener before halftime and Swansea midfielder Jonathan de Guzman inadvertently turned the ball into his own net in the 61st at the Hawthorns. DelmonYoung, AdamJones and MattWieters homered as Baltimore teed off for 20 hits, battering the New York Yankees 14-5 Tuesday. "It was a lot of fun," reigning major league home run champion ChrisDavis said. "It was a long game. It was long -- in a good way." After a 2-5 start in which they totalled just 22 runs, the Orioles broke loose. Young and Wieters each drove in three runs, and Jones delivered one of Baltimores four doubles at a half-empty Yankee Stadium. Everyone in Baltimores starting lineup got a hit and scored a run. The Orioles posted their second-highest hit total in the Bronx, eclipsed only by a 22-hit outburst in 1986. "Everybodys trying to find it right now," Davis said. "It felt good, as an offence, to score some runs." By the late innings, the game took on a spring training feel. The Yankees pulled several starters and the often-demanding crowd didnt even bother to boo while the Birds ran around the bases. There was a big cheer, however, when two fans sprinted onto the grass and were tackled in the outfield by a wave of security personnel. Jones said it was "stupid" for anyone to trespass on the field and said the punishment should be harsh. "They should let us have a shot to kick em with our metal spikes," the All-Star centre fielder said. Wei-YinChen (1-1) weathered five innings for the win, giving up four runs and nine hits. IvanNova (1-1) was tagged for seven runs and 10 hits in 3 2-3 innings. For all the big hits, it was a little grounder that helped things get out of hand at the start. After NickMarkakis led off the game with a single, Young followed with a bouncer up the middle. Many shortstops in the majors couldve turned it into a double play, but 39-year-old DerekJeter couldnt quite get to it and the ball skipped under his glove for a single. "He dove. He did everything he could to make that play," Yankees manager JoeGirardi said. Daviis followed with a sacrifice fly, and Jones hit his first homer of the season for a 3-0 lead. cheap jerseys. The Orioles chased Nova with a three-run fourth that made it 7-1 and added four more in the sixth. AlfonsoSoriano and KellyJohnson hit solo home runs for the Yankees. Rookie Yangervis Solarte struck again, too, with a pair of doubles -- hes 11 for 24 overall. Solarte is the first player since 1900 with at least six doubles in the first seven games of his career, the Yankees said, citing the Elias Sports Bureau. Young was 1 for 6 this season before manager Buck Showalter gave him this start. The designated hitter had an RBI single in the fourth that finished Nova and added his first homer, a two-run drive in the sixth. Wieters connected in the eighth. RyanFlaherty also had three hits for the Orioles after starting the year in a 1-for-21 rut. One of his hits was an early bunt single when FranciscoCervelli, a catcher making his first professional appearance at first base, ranged too far wide and in to field the ball. BEREA, Ohio -- VinceYoung doesnt take anything for granted. http://www.nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net/Nike-nfl-jerseys_New-england-patriots-jersey.html . Not after the road hes been down. Once of the NFLs rising stars before personal problems sidetracked the quarterbacks career, Young signed a one-year contract on Thursday with the Cleveland Browns. Although rusty, Young who hasnt played in a regular-season game since 2011, showed enough during a three-day tryout to get the deal. Its been a long climb back for Young, who wont celebrate with so much work to be done. "Theres no popping the champagne bottle," he said. The 30-year-old Young comes with an impressive resume after going 31-19 as an NFL starter and making two Pro Bowls. He was signed along with free agent QB TylerThigpen and linebacker ZacDiles shortly after the Browns completed their first minicamp under new coach Mike Pettine. This is another fresh start for Young, who spent part of the past two preseasons with Buffalo and Green Bay but hasnt appeared in a game since Dec. 18, 2011, for Philadelphia. He has endured financial problems, dealt with emotional issues and tried to balance his personal life while keeping his professional one afloat. Young is thankful for the new opportunity and plans to do all he can to convince the Browns that hes worth hanging onto for a while. After being offered a contract, Young told the Browns that instead of flying home to Texas, he planned to stay the weekend in Cleveland so he could become more acclimated with the teams playbook and to work out. "Right now I have my head down, just wanting to work and show the team, the organization what type of guy I am," Young said. "That was my whole focus and how much hard work I put in." Pettine said there were some moments over the past few days when Young looked like the Young of old. "He took off and ran for a first down, we just finished up a rack of third down plays here and you could tell hes very rusty," Pettine said. "I was just joking with him the other day that rust was falling off in large clumps, but he flashed a couple of times. You dont realize how big he is until you stand next to him. "We talk about all these 6-foot, 5-11 quarterbacks in the draft and then he comes walking out and you say, Oh, thats what theyre supposed to look like." Young acknowledged there were moments he felt like himself, and others when he struggled. "There is definitely some rust on there," he said. "The biggest thing is I just want to get down to my playing shape, eating right and try to get a feeling with the team, what they do with their workouts and things like that. "I just want to be around the team, be around the coaches and show them the part that they never see, the hard work that I do put in. Thats what theyre really about to see now." Thigpen was out of the league last year after playing six seasons with Kansas City, Miami and Buffalo. Hes 1-11 as a career starter with 21 touchdowns and 18 interceptions. "Its a great opportunity," he said. "I thought for a while there that the door was going to close, but now that opportunity has opened back up. Its time to take advantage of it." Young and Thigpen will be penciled in on the depth chart behind BrianHoyer, who looked good in his first on-field work since undergoing knee surgery in October. Pettine was pleased with Hoyers progress. He was limited to individual and 7-on-7 drills, and hopes to be cleared for more in June. "As far as his preparation, how he approached the practice field, how he interacted with the players, it was as we expected and then some," Pettine said. NOTES: The Browns have until Saturday to pick up the fifth-year, $5.5 million contract option on DT PhilTaylor for 2015. Taylor promised the teams decision will not affect how he plays this season. "Im still going to go out there and do what Ive got to do for the team," Taylor said. "Im still a Cleveland Brown and Im going to be a Cleveland Brown until Im not." ... WR NateBurleson was excused from the final day of camp. nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net . PAUL, Minn. www.nflcheapjerseywholesalechina.net .C. -- Cameron Gaunce scored in overtime to lift the Texas Stars to a 4-3 win over the Abbotsford Heat in American Hockey League action Wednesday. CalvinJohnsons epic game could have been even better, big numbers from MatthewStafford, DrewBrees and AndyDalton, while TomBrady andAdrianPeterson struggle; MarvinJones, JordanReed, GoldenTate and more inScott Cullens 50 Points on NFL Week Eight. 1. Lions WR CalvinJohnson (14 REC, 329 YDS, 1 TD, 1 fumble, 16 targets) had a game for the ages against Dallas. True to form, he was tackled or knocked out of bounds four times inside the Dallas five-yard line. 2. Lions QB MatthewStafford (33-for-48, 488 YDS, 1 TD, 2 INT) was the one getting the ball to CalvinJohnson. He ranks second in passing yardage this season (2,617) as well as second since the start of the 2011 season (12,622 YDS; 315.6 per game). 3. Saints QB DrewBrees (26-for-34, 332 YDS, 5 TD) is on a roll. Since the start of the 2011 season, Brees has thrown a league-high 108 touchdowns. Green Bays AaronRodgers, with 99, is only other quarterback within 25 touchdown passes of Brees over that two-and-a-half year span. 4. Bengals QB AndyDalton (19-for-30, 325 YDS, 5 TD, 1 INT) has thrown for 300-plus yards in each of the last three games, passing for 11 touchdowns in the process. Hes tied for fourth with 16 touchdown passes and ranks fourth with 2.249 passing yards. Given those numbers, and ranks, its hard to say he doesnt belong as a fantasy starter. 5. Panthers QB CamNewton (23-for-32, 221 YDS, 2 TD; 50 YDS, 1 TD, 11 carries) continues to roll up fantasy value. He ranks sixth among quarterbacks in fantasy value this season. Hes competed a career-high 64.9% of his passes and his touchdown-interception ratio (12:5) is the best of his three-year NFL career. 6. After questions arose late in the week about the status of Lions RB ReggieBush (122 YDS, 1 TD, 1 fumble, 29 touches) he not only played, but had a season-high 29 touches and ranks third among running backs with 853 yards from scrimmage. 7. There was significant doubt, as late as Sunday morning, over whether Saints TE JimmyGraham (3 REC, 37 YDS, 2 TD, 3 targets) would even play against Buffalo, as hes dealing with a foot injury, but even in a limited role, Graham turned in a productive performance. 8. Patriots QB TomBrady (13-for-22, 116 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT) is having a horrific season. Sundays 116-yard effort was his lowest passing yardage total since Decembe, 2009. His average of 228.0 yards per game -- in an increasingly pas-happy NFL -- is his lowest since 2006 and his touchdown to interception ratio (9:6) matches his first season as a starter, 2001, when he threw 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Every year in between has produced a better ratio, including last year when he threw 34 touchdowns and eight interceptions. 9. After TomBrady locked in on him constantly in Week Seven, Patriots TE RobGronkowski (2 REC, 27 YDS, 5 targets) was barely used in Week Eight. For those, like me, thinking that Gronkowskis return could salvage Bradys season, well, it may not be as simple as that. 10. Broncos QB PeytonManning (30-for-44, 354 YDS, 4 TD, 3 INT, 1 lost fumble) put up yardage in the win over Washington, but his four turnovers showed just how the tide has turned. Manning didnt throw any interceptions in the first four games of the year, then one in each of the next three, before Washington picked him off three times in Week Eight. Time to take care of that pigskin. 11. Vikings RB AdrianPeterson (83 YDS, 1 TD, 16 touches) has obviously gone through a devastating time, following the death of his son, but has only 44 touches over the last three weeks, since his last three games of the 2011 season, which included an injury-shortened appearance in Week 10. 12. Washington TE JordanReed (8 REC, 90 YDS, 14 targets) has quickly gone from interesting option to must-start. In the last two weeks, Reed has 17 catches for 224 yards and a touchdown. 13. Second-year Bengals WR MarvinJones (8 REC, 122 YDS, 4 TD, 8 targets) has been pulling ahead of MohamedSanu as the best option across from No. 1 wideout A.J.Green, but his four-touchdown effort against the Jets should pretty much seal that competition. Jones has 250 receiving yards and six touchdowns over the last three games. 14. Before we forget about Bengals WR A.J.Green (3 REC, 115 YDS, 7 targets), though, its worth nothing that his 734 receiving yards ranks second, behind only CalvinJohnson. 15. Packers WR JordyNelson (7 REC, 123 YDS, 2 TD, 8 targets) and JarrettBoykin (5 REC, 89 YDS, 6 targets) had productive games against Minnesota. WR MylesWhite (5 REC, 35 YDS, 7 targets) could be one to watch, as the Packers No. 3 receiver, for as long as JamesJones remains sidelined. 16. Seahawks WR GoldenTate (5 REC, 93 YDS, 2 TD, 7 targets) had the most productive game of his career, including a dozen rushing yards, against St. Louis and with WR SidneyRice suffering a torn ACL, Tate is sure to be a big part of the Seahawks offence, even when PercyHarvin makes his return to the lineup. 17. Browns WR JoshGordon (5 REC, 132 YDS, 1 TD, 10 targets) has been a big-time performer since missing the first two games of the year due to suspension. His average of 97.0 receiving yards per game currently ranks fourth among wide receivers. 18. Buccaneers WR VincentJackson (5 REC, 79 YDS, 13 targets) and TE/WR TimWright (5 REC, 48 YDS, 1 TD, 8 targets) had moderately productive games. The Bucs dont have a lot of options, and WR MikeWilliams is now on IR, so Jackson and Wright figure to get a lot of looks for the rest of the season. 19. Falcons WR HarryDouglas (12 REC, 121 YDS, 18 targets) continues to build his resume as a starting receiver in the absence of JulioJones and RoddyWhite. DrewDavis (5 REC, 77 YDS, 1 TD, 7 targets) had a productive game against Arizona too. 20. Chiefs RB JamaalCharles (120 YDS, 23 touches) pulled into the lead in yards from scrimmage, up to 1,018 yards in eight games, one yard ahead of Eagles RB LeSeanMcCoy. 21. Broncos RB KnowshonMoreno (133 YDS, 1 TD, 20 touches) is considered a giant surprise this year, since MonteeBall and RonnieHillman were getting taken earlier in fantasy drafts, but his 744 yards from scrimmage through eight games is only slightly ahead of the 692 yards he puts up in eight games last season. The difference for Moreno is that he has a league-leading nine touchdowns this season. 22. Packers RB EddieLacy (112 YDS, 1 TD, 33 touches) isnt necessarily the most efficient, but hes getting a ton of touches -- 108 over the last four games -- and its increasing because hes taking more of a part, however small, in the Green Bay passing game, with nine catches over the last two games. 23. Jaguars RB MauriceJones-Drew (122 YDS, 25 touches) had his most productive game of the season. As bad as the Jaguars have been, its stunning that this was the first time Jones-Drew had 25 touches. Two years ago, when he led the league in rushing, Jones-Drew had at least 25 touches in eight games though, to be fair, six of those games came after Week Eight. 24. Eagles RB LeSeanMcCoy (65 YDS, 19 touches) is starting to feel the effects of Philadelphias inconsistent quarterback play. The last two weeks are the first two weeks of the season in which McCoy has been held under 90 yards from scrimmage and without a touchdown. 25. Raiders RB DarrenMcFadden (82 YDS, 2 TD, 26 touches) was reasonably effective. He ranks 17th among running backs in total fantasy points despite getting injured in Week Four, when he was limited to five carries, and missing Week Five. nflcheapjerseywholesalechina. 26. 49ers RB FrankGore (77 YDS, 2 TD, 20 touches) quietly went about his business against Jacksonville before backup KendallHunter (84 YDS, 9 carries) got turned loose on the downtrodden Jags. 27. Patriots RB StevanRidley (79 YDS, 1 TD, 14 carries) was inexplicably left out of the gameplan in the first quarter against Miami, recording no touches in the first 15 minutes, but it was the second-most productive game of the year for Ridley and the third straight game in which he scored a touchdown. 28. Cardinals RB AndreEllington (162 YDS, 1 TD, 17 touches) has been sharing time with RashardMendenhall in the Arizona backfield but, with Mendenhall out against Atlanta, Ellington showed that probably is a sub-optimal way to distribute touches in the Cardinals offence. Theyre on a bye in Week Nine, but beyond that, Ellington really should see more carries. 29. Dolphins RB LamarMiller (112 YDS, 21 touches) had his best game of the season, against New England, pulling further ahead of DanielThomas (52 YDS, 10 touches) in the Dolphins backfield. 30. With C.J.Spiller on the sidelines, Bills RB FredJackson (53 YDS, 1 TD, 17 touches) handled the bulk of the work against New Orleans, with TashardChoice (35 YDS, 7 carries) coming off the bench. Jackson has been the Bills best back this year, but the Saints werent an easy matchup. 31. Saints RB PierreThomas (94 YDS, 17 touches) continues to produce for the Saints. Even though the season started with a three-pronged running attack, Thomas still ranks 25th among running backs with 477 yards from scrimmage, just ahead of StevanRidley, DarrenMcFadden and C.J.Spiller. 32. Rams RB Zak Stacy (134 YDS, 26 carries) suffered a sprained ankle late against Seattle Monday nigh, but it was a career-best performance, solidifying his place at the top of the Rams depth chart, when hes healthy. 33. Giants RB PeytonHillis (85 YDS, 23 touches) continued to run the rock. While Hillis isnt all that efficient, and could be usurped by AndreBrown around Week 10, Hillis has gained 166 yards from scrimmage in two games with the Giants. 34. Buccaneers RB MikeJames (64 YDS, 14 touches) didnt get a lot of opportunities against Carolina, but enough that hes likely to see more action over the rest of the season. 35. Jets RB BilalPowell (30 YDS, 14 touches) barely re-established his lead in the Jets backfield ahead of ChrisIvory (11 YDS, 6 carries) as both Jets runners were bottled up against Cincinnati. 36. Saints WR Kenny Still (3 REC, 129 YDS, 2 TD, 4 targets) had the big day for New Orleans receivers against Buffalo, while LanceMoore (3 REC, 34 YDS, 1 TD, 4 targets) returned to the lineup with a score too. MarquesColston (3 REC, 18 YDS, 6 targets) is practically in free-fall -- he has a total of six catches for 44 yards in the last three games. 37. Panthers WR TedGinn (5 REC, 80 YDS, 6 targets) has largely been a disappointment in his career, but hes become a threat for Carolina. Week Eights 80 receiving yards was his most in a game since December, 2009. 38. Chiefs WR DexterMcCluster (8 REC, 67 YDS, 1 TD, 10 targets) has been under-used for much of the season, but does have 11 catches for 137 yards over the last two weeks as he takes on a bigger role. McClusters emergence stands in stark contrast with WR DwayneBowe (1 REC, 7 YDS, 2 targets), who has been nothing more than a spare part in the Chiefs offence this season. Bowe did have a season-high five catches for 66 yards in Week Seven before falling to season-lows in Week Eight. 39. While WR JeremyKerley has been the best bet among Jets receivers, DavidNelson (8 REC, 80 YDS, 12 targets) has emerged as a more viable threat, catching a dozen passes for 160 yards over the past two games. 40. 49ers QB ColinKaepernick (10-for-16, 164 YDS, 1 TD; 54 YDS, 2 TD, 7 carries) is starting to play better after a dismal stretch from Week Two through Week Five. His passing totals are still modest but, combined with rushing yards and touchdowns, Kaepernick is returning to fantasy relevance. 41. Raiders QB TerrellePryor (10-for-19, 88 YDS, 2 INT; 106 YDS, 1 TD, 9 carries) got a win against Pittsburgh and his 106 rushing yards were his second-most in a game this season, but passing for 88 yards and two interceptions isnt a sustainable way to win games. The last two games, against Kansas City and Pittsburgh, Pryors completion percentage is way down (52.8% compared to 68.3% previously) 42. Browns QB JasonCampbell (22-for-36, 293 YDS, 2 TD) had a strong enough game against Kansas City that hes going to start again next week. So long as Campbell is passing like that, Brows receivers have fantasy value. 43. Eagles third-string QB MattBarkley (17-for-26, 158 YDS, 1 INT, 1 lost fumble) struggled in relief of an injured MichaelVick. With Vick expected to miss more time with a hamstring injury, its important that NickFoles is healthy enough to play because theres little evidence that Barkley is ready to face NFL defences. 44. Seahawks QB RussellWilson (10-for-18, 139 YDS, 2 TD) could use some receiving stability because hes had three games this season with fewer than 150 passing yards. He had three such games all of last season. 45. Dolphins WR BrandonGibson suffered a torn patella tendon and has been placed on IR. Not that the Dolphins passing game is outstanding, but have an eye on second-year WR RishardMatthews, who will take over Gibsons slot receiver role. 46. Giants WR RuebenRandle (0 REC, 1 target) was somehow ignored in the Giants win over Philadelphia. When the two teams met in Week Five, Randle had six catches for 96 yards and two touchdowns, so the matchup should have been favourable. 47. The non-quarterback, non-running back worth most in fantasy leagues through eight weeks has been Saints TE JimmyGraham (15.4 points per game), followed by Packers WR JordyNelson (15.0) and Lions WR CalvinJohnson (14.8). 48. Rams DE RobertQuinn (5 tackles, 3 sacks) and ChrisLong (4 tackles, 3 sacks) took advantage of a depleted Seahawks offensive line Monday. They are one of the best end combinations in the game, combining for 15.5 sacks. 49. Seahawks OLB BruceIrvin (9 tackles, 1 sack, 1 INT) had a monster game against St. Louis. 50. Other defensive players to have big weeks: Cowboys ILB SeanLee (10 tackles, 2 INT), Browns OLB CraigRobertson (11 tackles, 1 sack), Chiefs ILB DerrickJohnson (12 tackles, 2 TFL, 1 PD), Saints OLB JuniorGalette (6 tackles, 1 sack, 1 FR), Giants CB TerrellThomas (11 tackles, 1 sack), Eagles OLB MychalKendricks (12 tackles, 1 TFL), Jets DE MuhammadWilkerson (4 tackles, 1 sack, 1 INT), Steelers FS RyanClark (12 tackles, 1 TFL), Steelers SS TroyPolamalu (3 tackles, 1 sack, 1 INT), Broncos CB DominiqueRodgers-Cromartie (5 tackles, 1 INT, 2 PD), Cardinals ILB DarylWashington (6 tackles, 1 INT, 2 PD), Cardinals FS TyrannMathieu (7 tackles, 1 INT, 1 PD), Vikings MLB ErinHenderson (14 tackles, 2 TFL), Buccaneers OLB LavonteDavid (12 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL). The Winnipeg Goldeyes bats went silent on Wednesday night and now the Fish find themselves in a fight to hold on to first place. Cheap Jerseys Free Shipping . The Goldeyes dropped a doubleheader to the St. Paul Saints on Wednesday in front of 5,936 spectators at Shaw Park and as a result, the Goldeyes are now in a battle for first place in the American Associations North Division. Not long ago the Fish had an 9 1/2 game lead on St. Paul, but after losing the opener of the Twin Bill 5-2, then dropping the night cap 4-0, the Goldeyes find themselves only 3 1/2 games ahead of the Saints with a huge game coming up against St. Paul on Thursday at Noon. "You know, in the second game we hit the ball pretty well, but it was one of those games when everything you hit hard is right at somebody," said Goldeyes shortstop Tyler Kuhn. "Actually, their pitchers did a real good job in both games of pounding the strike zone. They didnt give up many free passes (only four walks in two games, none in Game 2) and that makes it tough. They pitched really well." With the loss, the Fish fell to 36-22 on the season while St. Paul improved to 32-25. The Goldeyes had won 11 straight in late June and early July, but in the first 10 games of an 11-game homestand, the Goldeyes have now gone 2-8. In the second game of the doubleheader on Wednesday night, the Goldeyes couldnt muster any offense. They scratched out five hits and had runners in scoring position only twice. St. Paul scored a run in the third, one more in the fourth and then put it away with a bases-loaded single by No. 8-hitter Jared McDonald that drove in a pair of runs. St. Paul starter Jeff Shields (5-4, 2.96 ERA) pitched a complete-game shutout and earned the win while Goldeyes starter Gabe Aguilar (5-2, 3.03 ERA) suffered the loss. In the opener, the Goldeyes built an early 2-0 lead, but couldnt hold on. In the second inning, Donnie Webb singled, stole second and scored on a single by Reggie Abercrombie. After a ground out and a walk, Abercrombie scored on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Tyler Kuhn. But St. Paul battled back to tie it up in the fifth and then Jake Taylor won it with a three-run homer off Nick Hernandez in the sixth. St. Paul starter Drew Gay (3-0, 2.65 ERA) got the win, while Hernandez (5-2, 4.03 ERA) took the loss. Mikey Mehlich picked up his first save of the year for the Saints. The Goldeyes and Saints will play the fifth and final game of this series at Noon on Thursday. Ethan Hollingsworth (3-0, 4.55 ERA) will get the start for Winnipeg while Robert Coe (4-4, 6.75 ERA) will take to the bump for St. Paul.cheapauthenticjerseys.us.com . ErikKarlsson and the Ottawa Senators felt good after their 3-1 defeat of the Washington Capitals on Monday, their first back-to-back victory in 51 days and their first three-game winning streak at the Canadian Tire Centre this season. Jerseys Cheap .Y. -- Bills rookie quarterback EJManuel wont start in Buffalos season finale at New England because of a small tear in a left knee ligament that will not require surgery. DENVER -- SemyonVarlamov celebrated his new contract with another stellar performance in net. Varlamov had 35 saves, JohnMitchell had a goal and an assist and the Colorado Avalanche edged the Minnesota Wild 5-4 on Thursday night. MattDuchene had two assists for Colorado, which survived a flurry at the end to get the victory. RyanOReilly, PaulStastny, NathanMacKinnon and MaximeTalbot also scored. It was quite a day for the 25-year-old Varlamov, who also finalized a five-year extension with Colorado that runs through the 2018-19 season. "It was a big day for us. Im sure its a great day for Varly as well," first-year coach PatrickRoy said. "He certainly deserved that contract. Were very happy its a done deal." The Avalanche acquired Varlamov from Washington in July 2011, and the Russian turned in a pair of inconsistent seasons under former coach JoeSacco. He has flourished under the tutelage of Roy, a Hall of Fame goalie, and goaltender coach Francois Allaire, improving to 27-9-5 with Thursdays win. "Thank God the right people came to the team during the summer," Varlamov said. "Patrick, and especially Francois Allaire. Those guys helped me a lot. They changed my game." Colorado needed every bit of Varlamovs talent against Minnesota. He helped the Avalanche win the season series 4-0-1 and move nine points ahead of the Wild in the Central Division. Colorado has a firm grasp on third place and the final automatic playoff seed in the division. "It was a big game for us. We have three games in hand and were up (nine) points in the standings," Duchene said. "That puts us well ahead and we just have to keep taking care of business." ZachParise had two goals and two assists and MikaelGranlund and JasonPominville also scored for Minnesota, which went 9-4-1 in January to get into the thick of the post-season race. The Avalanche used a big second period to help cool off the Wild. Mitchell broke a 1-1 tie with his sixth goal of the season at 1:43. Stastny scored his 16th of the season on a rebound midway through the period, and Talbot used the stick of Wild centre KyleBrodziak to make it 4-1 at 15:26.http://www.cheapauthenticjerseys.us.com/nike-nfl-jerseys-china_new-england-patriots-jersey-china/. Brodziak had gathered a rebound in front of goalie DarcyKuemper when Talbot came in from behind and hit the centres stick to put the puck in the net. "We were so good the first two periods," Roy said. "Offensively this is the best Ive seen our team play. We were cycling the puck, moving it quick. We had tons of chances." A minute later, NiklasBackstrom replaced Kuemper, who had 19 saves. "I let him know it wasnt him," Wild coach Mike Yeo said. "I did it to try to change the momentum at that point." "Kuemper played a pretty good game even though he got pulled. He made some amazing saves on us," Duchene said. "It could have been 6-, 7-1 if not for him." Backstrom had nine stops the rest of the way, giving the Wild a chance to get back into it. Parises goal at 7:47 of the third made it 4-2. He then assisted on Granlunds goal at 12:51 that made it a one-score game. MacKinnon appeared to seal the win with his 19th of the season at 17:35 but Pominville scored 11 seconds later. Backstrom went off for an extra skater with 1:07 left but the Wild couldnt get the equalizer. "When you get behind the 8-ball like we did, its tough to get back," Pominville said. The NHLs Mar. Wholesale Jerseys . 5 Trade Deadline is drawing closer and teams will be deciding on whether to buy orsellwhile figuring out which players can make the biggest difference and hold the greatest value. Check out todays trade-related reports and speculation from around the NHL beat. And follow TSN.ca through Deadline Day for all the updates. Be-Deviled Devils beat writer Randy Miller of NJ.com makes a case for New Jersey to acquire veteranforward DanielBriere from the Montreal Canadiens, saying that Briere may not be happy with his playing situation in Montreal, could be a top-line centre with the Devils and would be closer to his sons who live in Haddonfield, New Jersey. Miller suggests that swapping Briere for defenceman AntonVolchenkov could work, as Volchenkov carries a $4.25 million cap hit through 2015-16 and Briere has a $4 million hit through next season. But not so fast... TSN Hockey Insider Pierre LeBrun says that while Briere wasnt happy about spending time in the press box, hes had an impact since returning to the lineup and the situation with both sides seems to have settled down for now. A source told him that a conversation Briere had with GM MarcBergevin reassured him of his role and value to the team and with forward AlexGalchenyuk out for six weeks, Briere now should have a chance at regular ice time. Canucks Want List As written by LeBrun on ESPN.com, the Vancouver Canucks would like to add a centre before the trade deadline and, if not a centre, a top-nine winger. LeBrun says that BradRichardson has been terrific as a No. 3 center for the Canucks, but feels if they can have him centring the fourth line and can upgrade the third center spot, theyd feel better about their playoff chances. If the cant they could keep Richardson in the No. 3 hole and upgrade the fourth-line centre job. He adds that the Canucks are deep on defence throughout the organization and could put a blueliner out there to make a meaningful deal. Patient Penguins The Globe and Mails Eric Duhatschek writes that the Pittsburgh Penguins could be interested in acquiring help on the wing with veterans likeAlesHemsky, Michael Cammallerior MattMoulson available, but will want to see how rookie BeauBennett plays coming back off injury first. Hes expected back at some point next month and Duhatschek adds that GM Ray Shero would like to have him play a short stint in the minors before NHL play starts up again after the Olympics. The Penguins will expected to have PaulMartin back in the lineup by then, which leaves them with a surplus of defencemen. Sizzling Sens With six wins in their last eight games, the Ottawa Senators are in a dogfight for a postseason spot and re-signed general manager Bryan Murray is looking for another piece - most likely a forward- to make a run this spring. "Just watching the progress in the last month and a little bit, I think that the objective now is certainly more than it was a month before," Murray said on a conference call. "We are available to make a deal." On The Island According to Arthur Staple of Newsday, the New York Islanders have had some contract discussions with ThomasVaneks agent, but both sides are waiting to see what direction the team goes in down the stretch. Im sure well talk, but Im trying to stay out of it," Vanek said. "Until something gets close, I need to focus on the games." Vanek is in the final year of a seven-year, $50 million contract he signed with the Buffalo Sabres. Staying In Denver? As per Adrian Dater of the Denver Post, centre RyanOReilly and the Colorado Avalanche have agreed to wait until the summer to discuss a new contract. OReilly, whos making $6.5 million this season, is still a restricted free agent in July. On Feb. 28 of last year, the Avalanche matched a two-year, $10 million offer sheet from the Calgary Flames meaning the team cant trade OReilly for one year from the date they matched the offer. Cheap NFL Jerseys . First reported by FOX Sports Ken Rosenthal, its unknown if the impetus for the deferral proposal came from players or management, but it never left the preliminary stages. Wholesale nfl Jerseys . He leaves as a potential first overall pick, and one of the most dynamic, breath-taking players in college football history.ANAHEIM, Calif. - DerekJeter gave the Los Angeles Angels fans something special to remember him by in his final game at the "Big A." And he received something equally special in return. Jeter ended a home run drought of 161 at-bats in his final regular-season game against the Angels, and the New York Yankees kept HectorSantiago winless in seven starts with a 9-2 victory on Wednesday night. VidalNuno (1-0) allowed a run and four hits in 6 13 innings, struck out three and retired 14 of his last 15 batters. The left-handers only other victory in seven big league starts was May 13 of last season, when he pitched five scoreless innings of three-hit ball at Cleveland in a 7-0 decision. Unless both clubs meet in the playoffs, this was Jeters swan song against the Halos, who dropped two of three in the Bronx 1 1-2 weeks ago. JeredWeaver, AlbertPujols, MikeTrout and HowieKendrick carried a 12-foot-long pinstriped paddleboard with Jeters No. 2 and the Yankee logo to the middle of the diamond and presented it to him following a milestone-studded video tribute as the sellout crowd of 44,083 roared its approval. "That was a cool gift. I thought that was awesome. I can use that in my backyard," Jeter said with a grin. "But I dont expect something everywhere I go. I mean, this was a surprise to me. The fans have been awesome here from the first game of the series. Its something that youll remember, and I appreciate it. Ive played a lot of games here in the regular season and post-season, so I have fond memories of playing in Anaheim." It was the second time in two years that the Angels management went out of the way to honour a member of former manager Joe Torres "Core Four." Last season it was MarianoRivera, who retired as the all-time saves leader and received a painting of himself. "Mos different from me," Jeter said. "I play every day, so I have to go out there and play (after the pregame ceremony). Mo got massaged for five innings and went out on to the bullpen in the seventh, so its completely different." Jeter made it 6-0 in the second with a two-out drive to left-centrre for his 257th career homer and first since July 28, 2013, against Tampa Bays MattMoore at New York. Cheap Jerseys. In Mondays series opener, the Yankees captain doubled to end a drought of 55 at-bats without an extra-base hit. "Its good to get one," Jeter said. "Im not catching Babe Ruth or anything, but at least youd like to get one. The important thing is that we got a win. It was a good game for us in a lot of different ways." Eleven of Jeters last 12 home runs have been solo shots, including one against Santiago when he pitched for the White Sox in August 2012. "When he came up to the plate the first time, I kind of gave him a little head nod, like Hey, we appreciate what youre doing here. But then you just battle, man," Santiago said. "I felt like I made a good pitch to him his next time up. Hes gotten me in the past on off-speed stuff, so I just went away from that. It was one of the better cutters Ive thrown my last seven starts, and he got me." Jeter got a standing ovation before his final at-bat during the Yankees three-run eighth. He hit a fielders choice comebacker to reliever CoryRasmus for a force at the plate after a two-run single by John Ryan Murphy, and CarlosBeltran added a sacrifice fly. Santiago (0-6) was charged with six runs, five hits and three walks in 2 1-3 innings. Four of the runs were unearned, the result of errors by Santiago and right fielder Cowgill. NOTES: One day after the publication of Riveras book, "The Closer: My Story," Yankees manager JoeGirardi sidestepped questions about the combustible content which included Riveras opinion that Bostons DustinPedroia was a better second baseman than ex-teammate RobinsonCano. "Those are Marianos comments, and its probably why I chose not to write books," Girardi said. "I had plenty of opportunities with some of my experiences, but right now I just dont think it would be a good idea." ... Jeters first game in Anaheim was May 27, 1996, when he batted ninth and went 0 for 3 with a sacrifice fly and two walks in AndyPettittes 16-5 win over future Yankee Jim Abbott. cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '

LOUISVILLE, Ky. cheap jerseys . -- A horse with a humble pedigree. A couple of working stiff owners. A 77-year-old trainer with his first Kentucky Derby horse. Even Hollywood couldnt have made this up. California Chrome made it look easy on Saturday, pulling away down the stretch to win the Derby by 1 3/4 lengths. In a sport dominated by wealthy owners and regally bred horses from Kentuckys bluegrass country, this was a victory for the little guys. Owners Perry Martin and Steve Coburn bred an $8,000 mare to a $2,500 stallion to produce the winner of the worlds most famous race with their one-horse stable. "This is just a dream come true and a great birthday present," said Coburn, who turned 61 on Saturday. California Chrome ran 1 1/4 miles in 2:03.66 and paid $7, $5.60 and $4.20. The chestnut colt was sent off as the 5-2 favourite by the crowd of 164,906, the second-largest in the Derbys 140-year history. His trainer, Art Sherman, became the oldest trainer to win the Derby, 59 years after he travelled from California as an exercise rider for Derby winner Swaps. He watched that race from the barn area; this time he smelled red roses in the winners circle. Sherman was all smiles after the race. "He gave me the biggest thrill I ever had in my life," he said. California Chrome has the unlikeliest pedigree for a Derby champion. His mother, named Love the Chase, won just one race. She was purchased by Coburn and Martin, a move that prompted a trainer to call them "dumb asses" for getting involved in racing. Feeling inspired, they named their operation DAP Racing, which stands for Dumb Ass Partners. Their silks include an image of a donkey. Coburn lives near Reno, Nevada, rising at 4:30 a.m. for his job as a press operator at a 13-employee company that makes magnetic strips for credit cards and driver licenses. Martin lives on the California side of the border near Reno, running a laboratory that tests high-reliability equipment, like car air bags and medical equipment. Coburn and Martins partnership is based on a handshake, and their wives are friends who enjoy the sport, too. The group came up with California Chromes name by drawing it out of a hat. The horse hadnt even been out of his home state until this week. "Sometimes you dont get a lot of respect," Sherman said. "Were in Kentucky and you know most of the Derby winners are bred here and few outside of Kentucky." Sherman visited Swaps grave near the Derby museum earlier in the week and whispered a prayer: "I hope hes another Swaps." He sure was. California Chrome extended his winning streak to five races, won by a combined 26 lengths. It was the second Derby win for Espinoza, who rode War Emblem to victory in 2002. "I thought he rode him perfect," said Sherman, a former jockey. "I was riding the last 70 yards with Victor, so I think he was riding two. He had a lot of weight on him, I can tell you that." We Miss Artie, bred by Richard Lister of Toronto, placed 10th. Espinoza had California Chrome sitting comfortably in third in the 19-horse field as Uncle Sigh and Chitu set the early pace. California Chrome made his move on the final turn in tandem with Samraat. It looked like those two would decide the outcome, until California Chrome sped away to become the first California-bred to win the Derby since Decidedly in 1962. "This horse has so much talent," Espinoza said. "By the three-eighths pole I knew that was it. I could see other horses struggling a little bit, and he was just smooth." Dale Romans, who trained eighth-place Medal Count, quickly changed his tune about California Chrome after believing the colt had no chance to win. "Im very impressed the way he came into it, the way he looked, the way he was prepared and the way he ran," Romans said. "Now he has a new fan." Commanding Curve, a 37-1 shot, rallied for second, with Danza third. Wicked Strong was fourth and Samraat finished fifth. Commanding Curve returned $31.80 and $15.40, giving trainer Dallas Stewart his second straight runner-up finish with a double-digit longshot. Danza, named for actor Tony Danza of "Whos the Boss?" fame, paid $6 to show as the 8-1 third choice. Trainer Todd Pletcher came up empty with his four starters, finishing third with Danza, 10th with We Miss Artie, 12th with Intense Holiday, and 17th with Vinceremos. Wicked Strong, the 6-1 second choice, was fourth. Samraat was fifth, followed by Dance With Fate, Ride On Curlin, Medal Count, Chitu, We Miss Artie, General a Rod, Intense Holiday, Candy Boy, Uncle Sigh, Tapiture, Harrys Holiday, Vinceremos, and Wildcat Red. Vicars In Trouble, ridden by Rosie Napravnik, finished last. Before the Derby, Coburn had told anyone who would listen that California Chrome "would go down in history." He remains just as unabashed. "I believe this horse will win the Triple Crown," he said, something that hasnt been done since 1978, when Affirmed swept the Derby, Preakness and Belmont in a five-week span. "Thats where were going." wholesale nfl jerseys . David Griffin was promoted from interim GM on Monday by owner Dan Gilbert. He says Irving was not consulted on Browns future and any insinuation that he pushed to have him fired is "patently false. cheap jerseys from china . The 24-year-old piloted the No.06 Sprott Inc. Newman/Haas Racing entry to nine top-ten finishes, including three season-best fourth-place finishes, all on wildly different tracks - at Long Beach (street course), New Hampshire Motor Speedway (short oval) and Kentucky Speedway (1.Paulina Gretzkys provocative cover photo on the May issue of Golf Digest has drawn criticism from some of the pros of the LPGA Tour. The daughter of Wayne Gretzky, who is engaged to PGA star DustinJohnson, appears on the cover of the magazine leaning on a golf club in a sports bra and workout tights. The cover was released the same week as the LPGA is playing its first major event of the season, the Kraft Nabisco Championship in Rancho Mirage, California. Speaking to the New York Times, LPGA player Stacy Lewis expressed disappointment in the cover, saying "its frustrating for female golfers. Its kind of the state of where weve always been. We dont get respect for being the golfers that we are. "Obviously, Golf Digest is trying to sell magazines. But at the same time youd like to see a little respect for the womens game." Lewis was asked by the Times if she read the magazine, one of the premier publications in the sport. "Not much," she said. "Obviously you see some of the covers; you see things like that." Inbee Park, who won three LPGA mmajor titles last season, added, ""Thats just been the way it is for over 20, 30 years. nfl jerseys china. quot; Juli Inkster, a seven-time major winner and member of the World Golf Hall of Fame, was similarly unimpressed with the photo. "Its frustrating because its Golf Digest; its not Sports Illustrateds swimsuit issue," Inkster said, adding: "I think they should maybe recognize some of the great women golfers that we have. Its like, what do you have to do to get a little respect? "Im guaranteeing you right now, it was not a woman editor who chose that cover." Jerry Tarde, editor-in-chief of the magazine, was asked by the Times for comment on the publications choice of putting Gretzky on its cover. "Sports figures, celebrities and models have appeared on Golf Digest covers since the magazines beginning," said Tarde. "Paulina ranks at the high end of the golf celebrity scene today, and she has a compelling story to tell. She also might get some new people interested in the game." - with files from the New York Times cheap nfl jerseys cheap jerseys ' ' '
